Fuse crate opened. Substantial water in fuse crate. Several items waterlogged: Instrument box, epoxy box, toolkit. Front corner compartments of all nut, bolt and screw cases waterlogged. Instruments removed from soggy boxes and examined. No instruments wet, but individual boxes all waterlogged. Epoxy and floc all dry and undamaged.
Tools removed from toolkit and dried and cleaned. Screwdriver tips slightly rusted. Wet screws and bolts all cleaned with cloth and dried in warm fan forced oven at 60 degrees. No evidence of corrosion or rust.
Fuselage unloaded and in good condition, although serial number is #215, not 217 as advised by phone last Monday. Wing crate opened. Slight moisture egress causing damp bottom corners of card box, but cards all dry. Contents of wing crate unloaded and stored in good condition.
Several items missing: Packing list, contruction, technical and flight manuals, ventral fin, top and bottom wing strut fairings, upper and lower and right and left wing root cover strips, instrument panel face, rudder pedals, fuel hoses, brake hose, cross tube flap drive, tyre tubes. (This list compiled using list from construction CD received two months ago.)
Also no Bostick polyurethane foam (for back seat fill, no Loctite), or static tube.
Cleaned and sanded fuselage. Elevator cable, static vent and elevator trim cable slots cut with Dremel cutting tool and files. Elevator trim assembly begun, but PH0199N rivets not found in kit. (Part 27 of drawing 3228014-1.)
Set of six Monel rivets found to fit, but so do aluminium ones. No indication in instructions as to which one is correct. Wrote email to Jabiru re all of above.
